Water Metering

"I have little need to remind you that water has become one
of our major national concerns."
-Ezra Taft Benson, United States Secretary of Agriculture 1955

Do You Own a
Surface Water Diversion?

Washington State law RCW 90.03.360 requires owners of specific types of surface water diversions to measure, regulate and report their water use.  In an effort to encourage voluntary compliance with the metering requirements the Cascadia Conservation District has partnered with the Washington State Department of Ecology to provide cost-share funding to assist Chelan County diversion owners with the installation of metering equipment.

If you own a surface water diversion you may be eligible for cost-share funding to cover anywhere from 60-100% of the overall cost of your meter installation for projects over $250- not to exceed a maximum of $45,000 for any single project.
